Members
 The
College of Staten Island
had only been leafleted once before,
but it left a significant impression:
students recalled receiving leaflets,
some of them had more questions
and were thinking of going veg as
a result of the leaflets. One student
stopped to say, "This is so
awesome that you're doing this --
I will show it [the leaflet] to
my class. Thanks for coming to our
campus!"

Yesterday, I heard
"I'm a meatitarian"
from a woman and her husband. I
replied with, "So you need
this pamphlet to cure you."
The husband responded by taking
the pamphlet. As he opened it up
and started looking through it,
his jaw dropped to the ground, and
I overheard him telling his wife
that he wanted to read the booklet.
Today a boy told me that he received
the pamphlet earlier in the day,
and that he has now decided to go
vegetarian. In a separate incident,
a family told me that they got the
pamphlet yesterday and that that
they have now "started the
diet."

At East Los Angeles
College today, one
fellow came back to ask for extras,
telling me he had been reading the
leaflet and crying in his car. Another
man said, "This really works,
you know. My brother became vegetarian
after reading one of these."

 I've
had a lot of really great feedback
on my trip through
Wisconsin -- people asking for more
information, stopping to help me
leaflet, etc. Today, one guy I had
given a flier to earlier in the
day passed by again and said, "I
don't think I'm ever eating meat
again. There are some disturbing
facts in there." Earlier, one
girl who got a flier from me said
she didn't want to eat meat anymore.
One guy read the flier and when
he passed by again he said, "I'm
going to try and reduce my consumption
of meat." Several said they
had gotten one before and that it
was "interesting" or "good
stuff." One girl said she got
the flier last time, went to the
website, and now she has banners
from VO on her Myspace page.

At the University of
Massachusetts, Boston,
Alene and I gave an Even If
You Like Meat to a police officer
who stopped dead in his tracks and
started talking about how unbelievable
what he saw was. He and I talked
about how animals are treated as
commodities instead of individuals
in the modern world, and he told
me he was disgusted with humanity
that we have sunk so low. I gave
him (and a gentleman listening in
on our conversation) a Guide,
and they were both very appreciative.

At the University of
Toronto, one lady
said she'd received the same leaflet
at the same school three years ago,
and she has been a vegetarian ever
since. Two different students asked
how they could get involved with
VO. I told them about the Adopt
a College program, and how to order
leaflets. They seemed excited, so
I gave them each 20 Even Ifs,
so they could get started leafleting
right away. Three different students
asked for leaflets for school projects
they were doing.
